Summertime!! : Anniversary, Trips, FUN

I love summertime even though I hate the heat.

Most of the time the heat doesn't bother me. If I can get relief from it.

This year is ideal. It hasn't been really super hot yet. It is headed that way, but not yet.

But the hottest day we have had yet this year, I was gone. To Wyoming. Where it isn't so hot.

That was our trip this year. We went to Jackson and then to Martin's Cove. We stayed in Jackson and in Rawlins. It was our anniversary the day we left. I love that our anniversary always seems to hit on a trip we have planned. We always seem to be able to celebrate it well.

This weekend we are spending with family. Kate is getting baptized on Saturday and the 4th of July is on Monday. So we get a long weekend of fun being with family. We will be with all of our kids except Rowdy and his family and Shawn. But we feel very blessed to have Stina and the kids with us. I am so ready to see those two little kids. AND I am ready to see my newest granddaughter who I spent the first week of her life with her almost completely. In other words, I am gearing up for an awesome weekend and I can hardly wait!!!!

Electricity!!

I absolutely love where I live. And I am grateful for electricity. Everything we do takes it it seems. I have thought of all those who have lost their electricity and more because of storms and my heart goes out to them. That is why I am so grateful for where I live. We don't have a lot of violent weather, but we do get some pretty nasty winds. Last night it was blowing hard. All of a sudden our power went out. We thought maybe it was something that affected everyone so they would be right on it. But, NO, it was just us. We discovered this in the wee hours of the morning. This is why I love small towns. I called my neighbor down the highway who is our good friend and also the Manager at the Power Co. He came right over and had us back in business in no time. So, today I am grateful for electricity, small towns, good friends, and fairly good weather.
