Shawn and Stina's baby boy arrived at 2:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. He is such a cutie. We are so happy he is here safe and healthy. We are so happy for Shawn and Stina. They are very good parents. It is fun to see them as parents.

I think that in every one of these pictures he looks totally different. And what is more, none of them really do him justice. He is a very beautiful baby. Perfect in every way. He is just a lot cuter than the picutes show.

I just thought I would add a few pictures from the Satruday we all spent in Cedar a couple of weeks ago. It was really fun to be with family. I decided that since we all live so close we should meet like this more often.

Fabulous Weekend

We had a great time this last Saturday. It was one of those unplanned, spontaneous things. Kristi wanted to meet Shawn and Stina to give them some things she had for their baby. They were planning on being in Cedar City to go to a play. So Kristi asked me to come over and meet with her, Dustin, Dalley, Shawn and Stina. I mentioned to Luke and Kayce that we were doing this and they said they had planned on going to Richfield or Cedar City on Saturday anyway because they needed to do some shopping. So they decided to come too. When Rocky heard they would all be there, he decided to come, too. So it was kind of an impromptu family reunion. Shawn and Stina decided not to go to the play so that they could spend more time with us. (Love those guys.) We spent some time at the Harvest Festival (maybe that isn't the right name, but it was some kind of Festival). Then we got some lunch and then went to the Discovery Park. The kids had a ball and we got to visit.
Lukie, from the minute we saw him, kept saying he wanted to go to our house. We told him that he hadn't brought any clothes, so he wouldn't be able to. And besides we told him that he would not have his costume to wear and he needed to be home for Halloween. He wasn't entirely convinced, but he was okay. Then Luke and Kayce thought it over and decided that Luke will take Friday off, so they will come to Hiko for Halloween. Then they went over to Walmart and bought Lukie some clothes for the week, including a church outfit. So we were all set and we brought him home. He is so fun. Ryan is enjoying him totally. In fact he watches him while I am at work. What a fun kid!!

I thought I would add a little history. I found these photos online--the one is Ira Stearns Hatch and the other is his children. I thought they were pretty cool when I came across them. Also, Shawn and I went to the library the other night and found a book called Ira Hatch: Indian Missionary. We couldn't check it out because it's in the history/reference section, but I have contacted the son of the guy that wrote it and hope to get a copy of it soon.
I can't believe we will have another addition to the Hatch clan in just 4 more weeks!

I love Conference!

The two weekends a year that Conference is on are the two most wonderful weekends of the year. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years hating that time. It meant sitting for HOURs bored to tears. Well, when I got married and started my own family I sat down to watch conference and found that it wasn't boring at all. In fact it rejuvenated my spirit and made it easier to go ahead with all that was going on in my life. I learned to love the General Authorities and their love for us. I learned that I ALWAYS get some counsel that I have been needing.
It seems that when you have to work hard to have something, then it becomes even more dear to you. These past few years with sports events being in the way a lot of the time and preventing my watching on Saturday, I yearned to be able to have my time again. Well, now that the sports part of my life is over, I got to watch ALL four sessions without any interruption. And not only that, but the great invention, the Digital Video Recorder, it is even better. If I want to catch something I missed or my mind wanders a little, I just hit rewind and go back and get it. I LOVE IT!
This past Conference was awesome. I had Kristi and Dalley here and they watched the first session with me. Dalley was an angel, by the way, and slept through it all. Then Shawn and Stina came for the second session. It was Shawn's birthday (Kristi's was the day before), so we took him, Kristi, and everybody else out to dinner at Windmill. The men were all dressed up to go to the Priesthood Session afterward. It rained really hard as we went to get in our car. However, it was kind of sad because the men got in to the church, sat down, the prayer was said and the opening prayer give, and then the power went off. So they didn't get to see that session.
Of course Sunday was just as wonderful. Then everybody went home. I felt totally rejuvenated and ready for the next six months. (I can hardly wait for April to come, though)

This is my oldest granddaughter and my oldest grandchild. She is Rowdy's daughter, Crystal. She just turned 15. I know, I am way too young to have a grandchild that old, but they did make me a grandma at a very young age.

This is Luke's oldest child, Cody. He is a born scientist, so the best way to catch any picture of him is while he is trying to catch some insect or animal, in this case worms.

This is Ryan, who just had shoulder surgery with Rocky James. They are as close as brothers. They love being together. Ryan is 18 and Rocky James is 13.

So that is a picture of all my grandkids except for LE who I just posted pictures of and my unborn grandchild coming in November to Shawn and Stina. A little boy who is bound to be a cutie.

Better Late Than Never

On Labor Day weekend we were in Escalante for the event of blessing our newest grandchild, Luke and Kayce's baby, Lynda Elaine. She will be called L.E. (Sounds like Ellie). Here are a couple of pictures of her on that weekend. She is such a sweetheart. She has the sweetest little cry.

All is Well that Ends Well

Ryan had his shoulder surgery. I was prepared for a boy who would be in pain and really grumpy about having to lay around. He has been a real trooper. No complaints even though I know he is in a lot of pain. Especially since he was still hurting from having his wisdom teeth out. He is in a brace 24-7. He can only wear button up shirts. Shawn and Stina brought some for him when they came last weekend. He only had one that wasn't long sleeved prior to this.

I am going to go with Kristi this coming week to a training in Salt Lake so that I can tend Dalley for her and she can be with him in the evenings. I am going to have fun.

Tomorrow it will Start.

Tomorrow starts a series of things to help get Ryan prepared for his mission.
Tomorrow he will have his wisdom teeth out. He has three. He will be going to an oral surgeon to have it done. Then on Tuesday he has his shoulder operated on. I don't have a clue yet how he will handle all of this. He usually isn't a good patient. Maybe the teeth will be a piece of cake, but maybe not. Maybe the surgery will heal quickly. That is my hopoe and prayer. Then we need to get him back in to test his eyes. By the time all of that is done, then he should be able to get his papers ready to submit. Then the countdown will begin.

Can anyone believe that I am finally posting something.

So, I tried to add some pictures of Ryan playing baseball. But something happened and it wouldn't work.
I am announcing the birth of Luke and Kayce's 4th baby. Her name is Lynda Elaine. They wil call her L-E (Elle) She was 7lb. 15oz. She is a pretty little thing. I have the other three here with me this week.
I will post pictures when I can.

I have a hard time e-mailing more than one picture to a non government computer so I thought it would be faster to just post some here for everyone to see. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the last few weeks. I can't believe that Dalley will be 4 months next week. Time flys.

Here are my most recent photos of Dalley. He is a huge baby weighing in at 5lbs 5 ounces. I am hoping he doesn't get too much bigger. Since he is so big they think they might have my due date off by a couple of weeks. There are other possibilities as to why he is so big, but they haven't figured anything out for sure yet.
